Wedding Singer, The
The year is 1985. The place is New Jersey. A wannabe rock star (aka a professional wedding singer) is left at the altar and finally changes his tune.
This version is based on the Original 2006 Broadway Production.
There are 3 keyboards in this 12 piece orchestration all with programming. All the books and the programming are essential to the sound of the show. Keyboard 1 is the MD/Conductor chair and this is the primary piano book though there are about 30 different patches in the programming. There is everything from cheesy synth sounds to drum machine sounds, various organs to synth leads, and a variety of electric pianos to give it that 80’s sound. This book requires a very strong player who can play pop/rock grooves in their sleep.
Keyboard 2 was originally a double tiered keyboard stack setup. KeyboardTEK has recreated the original programming that allows this book to be played on a single keyboard. All of the instructions on octave displacements are in the programming and we have just added more patch changes to accomodate this change. This book is almost all 80’s synth sounds. Some of these include Moog leads and basses, Prophet Pads, Roland D50 sounds, Fairlight Synth patches, record scratches, filter sweeps, synth bells, and synth brass. If you like analog 80’s synthesizers, this is the book for you.
Keyboard 3 has all the sounds that wouldn’t fit into Keyboard 1 or 2. It is a hodgepodge of orchestral and band instruments, Hammond B3, and many of the synth elements from Keyboard 2. All 3 books require strong players that have experience and familiarity playing shows with lots of keyboard programming. It is a rocking show and this will quickly become one of your players favorites.

ORIGINAL MUSIC TEAM
The Wedding Singer takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. Based on the hit Adam Sandler movie, The Wedding Singer’s sparkling new score does for the ’80s what Hairspray did for the ’60s. Just say yes to the most romantic musical in twenty years.
It’s 1985, and rock star wannabe, Robbie Hart, is New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. He’s the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and, unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.
