PROGRAMMING NOTES
The licensed orchestration is based on the Original 1979 Broadway Production.
This show is designed to be stick conducted and there is only a single keyboard book which is in fact an Optional (but highly recommended) Organ book with some of the most iconic musical sequences and notes in the show. KeyboardTEK has painstakingly reproduced the original Organ sounds used in the Broadway production and made it into a playable book available in a single MainStage file. You will need a player who is familiar with organ playing technique for this book. If your theater has access to a real pipe organ, you can also play this book on that in which case the programming will not be needed. Just be aware that you will need to adjust the organ stops and registrations as they occur in the part whereas our programming has the registrations preprogrammed.
The Organ book is written as an actual organ part with manuals and a pedal stave so our programming follows that format. If you do not have a double manual/stack keyboard or organ MIDI controller with MIDI organ pedals, you can opt to just play the upper manual lines on a single keyboard but you will not be able to play the pedal line. You can also opt to purchase a MIDI pedal board to connect to your MainStage rig and your current keyboard/organ controller and we have included a link to some of those options from our partner at Sweetwater HERE. Please contact us with any questions regarding our MainStage programming before you place an order if you are unsure

SHOW DESCRIPTION
Sweeney Todd has become a bloody, worldwide success since being awarded eight Tony’s, (including Best Musical), for its Broadway premiere. Stephen Sondheim’s and Hugh Wheeler’s (A Little Night Music, Pacific Overtures) tasty, thrilling, theatrical treat has simultaneously shocked, awed and delighted audiences across the world.
An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett’s luck sharply shifts when Todd’s thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up… and the carnage has only just begun!
