This licensed orchestration is based on the 2018 New York City Center Encores! Production.
This show is orchestrated to be player-conducted from the Key 1/PC book which is piano only. This new 2018 orchestration does not contain keyboard programming but the original 1995 does so please check with MTI or check your materials to see which version you are doing and whether or not you will need the programming. The original orchestration is being phased out altogether but some organizations are still producing it by request. Once you have purchased the programming we will not be able to refund your money once a download link is generated.
Depending on which orchestration you are working with, the parts will also look different. The newer version is beautifully typeset while the original version is handwritten and can only best be described as chicken scratch but it is playable. It can be difficult to read in spots and there are lots of things crossed out and circled but this is the original part used in the original production and exactly what is heard on the cast recording. The programming for this book also matches what is heard in the cast recording. There are not alot of individual sounds and patches in the programming but there are over 100 patch changes throughout. These sounds include strings, brass padding, synth pad, electric piano, synth bells, organ, and chorused guitar to name a few.

The first musical from Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Bridges of Madison County), this moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love and the choices that we make.
Brown transports his audience from the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to a ledge, 57 stories above Fifth Avenue, to meet a startling array of characters that range from a young man who has determined that basketball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams… and a soulless marriage.
