Little Shop of Horrors (Broadway Version)
Feed the need for musical hilarity with this delicious sci-fi smash about a man-eating plant, featuring the 2003 Broadway orchestrations.
This version is based off of the original 2003 Broadway production. The orchestration for this version is larger than the Original Off-Broadway version with 10 musicians.
This show is orchestrated to be player-conducted by the MD from the Keyboard 1 book and lead the band. There are 2 keyboards in this show both with programming. Unlike the Original Off-Broadway version, both books are typeset.
The Keyboard 1 book only has a handful of patches which is primarily acoustic piano and the rest are various electric pianos such as Fender Rhodes and Wurly. This is a book that would be totally fine to be played entirely on piano if you so choose.
Keyboard 2 is much more heavily programmed with over 80 unique instruments and sounds and over 100 patch changes throughout the show. This book has all of organ and synthesizer sounds from the cast album. There is everything from horn and string sections to Orchestra Hits and Filter Sweeps as well. The book is not technically difficult at all and an advanced high school student could play the book.

Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!
