QLab (Loops & Click)
$200.00 – $275.00
The exhilarating true story about a struggling shoe factory that will lift your spirits to high-heeled heights!
This orchestration is based on the Original 2003 Broadway production.
This show is orchestrated to be player-conducted from the Keyboard 1 book. There are 2 keyboard books in this show, both of which have lots of programming and will require very strong players who have experience playing heavily programmed shows. There are hundreds of patch changes and electronic music elements that sometimes happen very quickly.
Keyboard 1 is primarily piano but has lots of additional keyboard instruments such as EP’s, Clav, and Harpsichord, but there are also lots of other synthesized sounds such as pads, bass, bells, and leads. There is also an accompanying Q-lab file that is recommended that has all of the pre-recorded stems and loops for many of the big dance numbers like “Land of Lola”. These can only be licensed through KeyboardTEK. The Q-Lab file is generally triggered by the MD/Keyboard 1 player and all instructions are included on how to set this up and utilize it in performance. All the sounds in this file were originally in Ableton for the original production.
Keyboard 2 is also heavily programmed and contains most of the organ and other EP’s heard in this show. Along with the iconic electric pianos found throughout this score, there are lots of other sounds played in this book such as strings, Guitars, Brass, Strings, Harp, and many synth elements.
This particular show also has drum programming that is highly recommended in order to get the same sounds as heard on the cast album. This is designed to be played by the drummer alongside of the acoustic kit. Many of the iconic sounds and hits come programmed in this file which is designed specifically for the Roland SPD-SX drum pad although we have recently programmed these to make them available on the Yamaha DTX and Alesis Strike as well. If you have one of the other drum pads listed, please indicate this in the customer notes at the time of checkout so we can make sure to send you the correct file. Although standard for many professional drummers and percussionists, if you do not have access to one of the drum pads, KeyboardTEK has a very limited supply of Roland SPD’s to rent with the programming already installed so please email us to inquire about adding this to your rental.
