It Shoulda Been You
Broadway’s wild musical farce with blushing brides, nervous grooms, overbearing moms, unexpected guests and plenty of crazy twists and turns.
This orchestration is based on the Original 2015 Broadway production.
This show is orchestrated to be player-conducted from the Keyboard 2 book. There are a total of 2 keyboards in the show, both with programming.
Keyboard 1 is the primary piano book but has other patches in the programming as well that include, EP’s, Harp, Strings, and Synth Pads to name a few. This book requires a strong rhythmic player.
Keyboard 2 consists mostly of various types of keyboards such as Organ, EP’s, Harpsichord, and Clav but also has some strings and synth elements mixed in. It is not as technically demanding as some other musical theater Keyboard books but does require a strong rhythmic player familiar with jazz chops and who can lead the band while playing.

A world where nothing is what it seems, religions collide, Machiavellian plots are revealed, promises are broken, secrets are exposed and hope springs from the most unlikely of places…. Is it the latest conflict in the Middle East? No, it’s just the Steinberg wedding. The charming, funny and original new musical, It Shoulda Been You invites you to a wedding day that you’ll never forget, where anything that can go wrong does, and love pops up in mysterious places.
The bride is Jewish. The groom is Catholic. Her mother is a force of nature. His mother is a tempest in a cocktail shaker. And, when the bride’s ex-boyfriend crashes the party, the perfect wedding starts to unravel faster than you can whistle “Here Comes the Bride!” It’s up to the sister of the bride to turn a tangled mess into happily ever after in this musical comedy for anyone who ever had parents.
