PROGRAMMING NOTES
This orchestration is an amalgamation of several productions that were primarily based on the 2007 US National Tour.
This show is orchestrated to be player-conducted from the Keyboard 1 book. This show features has 2 keyboard books with only Key 2 having most of the programming.
Keyboard 1 is the primary piano book and does have some light programming throughout. This book will require an advanced player who is familiar with the show and who can navigate the part and programming while leading the band.
Keyboard 2 has much more programming than K1. This book features over 100 patch changes with sounds ranging from B3 Hammond Organ to EP’s, Synth Strings and Pads, to Brass and Woodwind instruments and percussion. Although not as technically demanding as Keyboard 1, a strong player would be recommended to navigate this book.

SHOW DESCRIPTION
Disney Channel’s smash hit movie musical comes to life on your stage! Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High must deal with issues of first love, friends and family while balancing their classes and extracurricular activities.
It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical that is being led by Ms. Darbus. Although many students resent the threat posed to the “status quo,” Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.
