Sondheim’s game-changing musical is a sophisticated and honest look at modern adult relationships.
This version is based on a reworked Broadway orchestration from 2013 for 22 players.
There is just a single keyboard book in this show, but as it typical for a Sondheim show, it does require a proficient musical theater player. This show is designed for a stick conductor and would be very difficult to play and conduct a large orchestra from this chair. The programming is very light and is mostly piano with some harpischord, lute, organ, and tamboura.
