Catch Me If You Can
Based on the hit DreamWorks film, this splashy spectacle follows the high-flying adventures of a globetrotting con artist.
This orchestration is based on the 2012 US National Touring Production.
This show was orchestrated to be stick conducted from the podium although many productions have the MD conduct from the Keyboard 1 book successfully. There are 3 keyboard books with this show all of which have programming.
Keyboard 1 is mostly piano with a bit of B3 organ and EP. Keyboard 1 requires a very proficient player who can play complex jazz voicings and rhythms as well as pop/rock groove. If you have a modern keyboard with has electric pianos and a good Hammond B3 organ sound, we recommend using that for Key 1 since there are just not that many patches. KeyboardTEK offers a Mainstage file for this book if you would like it at a greatly reduced price. Just enter CMIYCK1 in the coupon code at checkout.
The Keyboard 2 book is essentially a string supplement book with all of the patches being solo and ensemble string patches with multiple articulations. All of the string articulations are programmed into this book allowing your player to just play the notes on the page. This book does require an advanced player and someone very familiar with keyboard programming.
Keyboard 3 book is an amalgamation of instruments and sounds that were cut from the Original Broadway production to the tour version which is what you are licensing. Most of the sounds and patches in this book are Brass and woodwind with various articulations as well as Harp, Auxiliary Percussion, and Guitar. The Keyboard 3 player on the tour version played electric guitar as well as the keyboard. Our programming includes the Electric Guitar patches on the keyboard so your player does not have to play both instruments unless they can and want to. Your Keyboard 3 player will need to be very familiar with playing heavily programmed books and have familiarity with jazz piano voicings. They must be able to read chords as well as some sections are written with just rhythmic notation and chords.
