The Cher Show
The Cher Show is based on the life of Cherilyn Sarkisian La Piere Bono Allman or as her friends call her, Cher! The kid on a tricycle, vowing to be famous. The teenage phenom who crashes by twenty. The glam TV star who quits at the top. The would-be actress with an Oscar. The rock goddess with a hundred million records sold. The legend who’s done it all, still scared to walk on stage. The wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend. The woman, looking for love. The ultimate survivor, chasing her dream. They’re all here, dressed to kill, belting out all the hits, telling it like it is. And they’re all the star of The Cher Show.

PROGRAMMING NOTES
This licensed orchestration is based on the Original 2018 Broadway production.
This version is orchestrated to be player conducted from the Piano Conductor Score. There are two keyboard books in this show, both of which have various degrees of programming. The Piano Conductor book is the primary piano book but there are equal parts of playing and just conducting. There are a fair amount of additional patches such as electric pianos (Rhodes, Wurlitzer), synth bells and pads, celeste, harp, brass, and vibes to name a few but the book itself is fairly easy to play particularly those familiar with all the tunes.
The programming for Keyboard 2 is much more elaborate yet essential to the sounds of the songs from various decades. Sounds from this book include various EP’s, one shot samples, synth pads and sweeps, harp, strings, acoustic piano, mallet percussion, various organs, harpischord, and woodwinds to name just a few. This book could easily be played by an advanced high school student and is not super technical at all as long as the player is comfortable playing with patches.
The original production used a click track on many tunes that KeyboardTEK will be creating for productions interested in this. We will update this page when it is available.

SHOW DESCRIPTION
Her Life. Her Story. Her Legend. Superstars come and go. Cher is forever. For six straight decades, only one unstoppable force has flat-out dominated popular culture — breaking down barriers, pushing boundaries, and letting nothing and no one stand in her way. THE CHER SHOW is the Tony Award-winning musical of her story, and it’s packed with so much Cher that it takes three women to play her: the kid starting out, the glam pop star, and the icon.
THE CHER SHOW is 35 smash hits, six decades of stardom, two rock-star husbands, a Grammy®, an Oscar®, an Emmy® and enough Tony Award-winning Bob Mackie gowns to cause a sequin shortage in New York City, all in one unabashedly fabulous new musical that will have you dancing in the aisles!
