Licensing Company: TRW
Big Fish tells the larger-than-life tale of Edward Bloom, a man who leads an extraordinary life—according to the stories he tells his son, Will
This licensed orchestration is based on the Original 2013 Broadway Production.
This show is orchestrated to be stick conducted from the podium and has 2 separate keyboard books, both with very dense programming. It is recommended to have 2 proficient players both of whom are experienced at playing shows with lots of keyboard programming.
Keyboard 1 is the primary piano book but it does have lots of programming. Those patches and sounds include various acoustic pianos, harp, strings of various articulations, celeste, B3 organ, latin percussion, woodwinds, vibes, and orchestral brass among many others. You will need a player who can navigate the playing and the programming.
Keyboard 2 is much more dense than Keyboard 1 and adds lots of orchestral padding to the live players. Sounds include strings, woodwinds, harp, brass, orchestral percussion, magical bells, and even a piano scrape, metal pipe, and a bowed waterphone. This is a satisfying book to play once it is mastered.
